Thanks Kamdaman, I’m going to try and get to 90kg but I’d be happy with 100kg. I’m 6 ft and of large build.Used to be 100kg when I was a RAF Policeman and I had a 34” waist. Gravity had got the better of me now ha ha ha

Thanks a lot George. You can call me Kam :) I've had similar experience with my diet, but I think my enemy is alcohol if I could get this to zero weight should drop off quickly. You are lucky living where you live close to hills or mountains I've got at least 1h drive to Lake District to do some hiking. I experienced hunger as well when I was swimming and I try to walk now. Hard after work to get motivation going bit hey ho. Need to get there. Thanks again for your help. How much do you walk would you say and also how much have you lost in first 3 months of your proper dieting? Thx

Hi Kam, to answer your question I lost around 42kg in my first 3 months. I just junked alcohol and all dairy products, watched my carbs and loadsa protein. I used to drink around 6 pints of Stella a night more at the weekends. When I started calorie counting, which is what I found to be the easiest way to control my intake, I ditched the alcohol for food. It wasn’t easy but totally necessary to lose weight. After a while it’s easy to abstain. Im no big fan of cardio workouts but I do like lifting weights. ( practiced for years with a full pint glass ;/ ) regards exercise I started just taking my dog out for short walks and just built it up.Dog hides when I shout walkies now lol. I help my sister at her stables as well and that’s a good workout. Basically if you’ve been a couch potato like I was start slowly and build it up over time. I’m no expert, if I was I wouldn’t have ended up as I did. However that advice worked for me. Best of luck buddy.

Cheers Kam, just stay away from white bread and all potatoes, at least for a while. Drink plenty water, I have to flavour mine with sugar free cordial. ( but I’d prefer to flavour it with hops!!! Won’t go there atm though.) Stick with it buddy, it’s shit but it’s worth it. Apart from the constant clothes shopping!!! I’m am Scottish ye ken! Lol

Thanks my Scottish mate :) How about sweet potatoes should I stop them as well and what would you replace them with. Sorry to bother you.

Kam, I used sweet potatoes to make wedges with, sprayed them with Fry light 1 cal oil covered them with chilli powder and roasted them in my air fryer. I don’t eat any form of potatoes just now but that’s not forever, it’s the old saying pal, “ everything in moderation, moderation in everything” Makes you a boring git but you cannae hae everything. Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamins C and B, as well as potassium. While white potatoes are lower in fat and sugar, sweet potatoes have fewer carbs and calories. And while sweet potatoes contain more vitamin A and vitamin C, white potatoes contain more protein and fibre. I calorie count as I find it the least restrictive. You can eat anything but it makes you eat healthier so you can have more!! I’d rather have a large chicken fillet than a wee steak. Hope your well mate and keep it up. George
