Stayed on track with my calorie goals today. Loving the 16:8 fasting. First meal was at 2pm today and the last one ended right at 8pm. So easy to do and easy to stay satisfied. Happy with staying near my carb macros and sodium intake, too. Hoping to drop another pound or two by morning.

I am taking notes of your fast track - the scale was not a diaster considering I had an eating binge day yesterday- My exercise saved me to a certain degree - Also I was scraping old window film off my car and it was 90 degrees outside- my clothes were drenched from sweating so much I had to change them / Back on track today

With the fasting can you pick your times? Say eating between 11am till 7pm?

Nice job, really want to try the 16:8. Got to go over my meds & supplements to see if I can take without eating. Usually take them for breakfast, lunch & dinner. The only problem I see, is my BP meds which I take 1/2 dose twice a day. Hopefully will be off those meds in a couple of months.

Chillie Willie, 16:8 is anti-inflammatory so it may help with your BP.

Why /how is 16;8 anti-inflammatory?

According to James B. Johnson M.D. and Donald R. Laub Sr. M.D, authors of "The Alternate-Day Diet," intermittent fasting activates a gene called SIRT1. This reduces inflammation, lowers free radical stress, improves insulin resistance, and most important, causes fat loss by releasing fat cells from around the organs.

Good job Bill. Chris - I'm reading that book now thanks to your recommendations, have already been doing the fast. Once you get used it, it's really not a problem and the fuller feeling from eating your food in a smaller time window is a plus.

jmb3450, when I started, I used to feel hunger pangs, but those are largely gone. I like the fact that I don't feel deprived. It's just for one day - or for those doing the 16:8 version of intermittent fasting - 16 hours.

I wish I could incorporate fasting into my plan. I used to do it until I found out that it makes my blood sugar go through the roof. That does not happen to everyone, I'm just a little broken in the blood sugar control department. You will be sub 200 before too long Bill!
