I spoke with my original dietitian two days ago, lamenting I'm exercising more, lifting some weights at home to build muscle, and not losing much at all. He did test my metabolism two months back and its poor. My GP three days ago said my BMI was not a concern at 59.3kg before I gained about 7 kilos over the past year when the second dietitian said I'm not eating nearly enough. I wish I'd gone back to my original dietitian, as now I have to work hard to get back to where I thought I was overweight, seven kilos ago.

I don't look overweight, but I am. I'm a very small build and feel so uncomfortable, big tummy. That is partly my genetics, as my mother and her sisters are the same "apple" shape, so I'm not wanting to be "bikini ready" but I do want to feel comfortable in my own skin.

Today I've dropped a noticeable amount after having almost plateaued for a few weeks. Dietitian suggested sticking with 1100 calorie intake, slow and sure, keep exercising and lifting weights. That's better than dropping calories even lower. He has suggested two days a week to fast, either at night (but can eat veggies and that will still work), or mornings as next best option. He also said that if I find I've eaten 900 calories, and am not hungry, not to eat just to get them up to 1100 and if that happens once a week, it shouldn't upset my metabolism further.

It sucks to be post-menopausal for sure. But obviously it's better than not making it to this age.
