Saturday evening was another day of "restaurant" discovery. My wife & I had driven to Russellville KY to attend the funeral of a friend. Russellville is a smaller town in central KY with about 7500 population. Since the funeral was later in the afternoon, I asked some people of a good place to eat. They recommended a local Italian restaurant, and I am thinking "OK, another pizza place". But, everyone said it was good. Having lived outside NYC, Philadelphia, and Baltimore,...and having traveled to Chicago and San Francisco extensively on business, I've eaten at some world class Italian restaurants and also some really good "mom & pop" Italian. But,...Russellville KY ??? Just add Russellville KY to the list. Ariella's is definitely in the "5 star" category. I don't know who the chef is, but they have a kitchen that is the best. My wife had a scallops entree, and I had a clams, shrimp, crab dish on linguine with a wine sauce. Both were delicious. They also had the typical red sauce with various meats on pasta, and some other chicken, pork, and ELK dishes. The down side is that for 2 days in a row, salt has affected my weight temporarily. So, Monday will be a exercise day on the bike and some lower caloried meals to get back on track. But,...it was worth it !! Everyone be prepared for any snow storms that are in your area. We are supposed to get hit very hard in middle TN with snow and low temperature extremes. Keep focused, keep exercising, and keep losing / maintaining your weight. God is good !!
