I've perfected my morning smoothie recipe and not only is it healthy, it tastes sooo good! I thought that I would share it with everyone here, if they wanted to try it out. It's simple and quick to make.
In a food processor, combine 200 ml almond milk, 5 fresh strawberries (green tops removed), 2 tsp of sweetener (I use erythritol), 2 Tbsp of almond butter, and 2 Tbsp of carob powder. I suppose you could use cocoa powder instead, but I never tried it, because I can't have it. Process it until smooth, then add 2-3 cubes of ice and process again. Pour into a glass and drink with a straw.
One smoothie has 346 calories, so it makes a nice quick breakfast on its own, or you could have it with some fruit.
It tastes delicious, like a creamy shake. It's one of my favorite breakfast items now. Both almond butter and carob powder have amazing health benefits too.
