I'm using the new scale which seems to weigh 1.4-1.6 pounds higher than the "old" scale which I've only had about 6 months. The new scale seems to be closer to the weight at my doctor's office. Haven't lost anything in over a week. Before that I had been losing a fraction most days and lost 10 pounds in less than a month.

It's still hot here and stays hot until about midnight and even then doesn't cool off much. I have the whole house fan running now with windows open. The thermostat showed 79 when I turned the fan on so I'll see if it cools down much

I find these digital scales to be crap. I wish I had room for a balance scale. We are in for some super hot temps and humidity again for another 10 days.

Morticia - at least we don't have humidity. It's very dry heat, but that's why there is such high fire danger. The older scale (6 months old) has some nice features like it lights up in the dark and shows the difference from the last time I weighed, but it is all over the place with weight. When I first stepped on it this morning it showed me 20 pounds less! I think it's because it saves the last weight and my cat had been laying on it before I stepped on it. Don't know why it would subtract his weight from mine but it's done that a couple times.

I had the window fans going all night. until the skunk had an altercation with something outside around 3AM. what a weird way to wake up, but I collected my wits and reversed the fans quickly so it's not too bad now. good times, good times.

Thanks Kat and Ajbusjahn - I get a skunk roaming through the backyard and on my deck most nights. Only time I've smelled it recently was when it sprayed Bobby.
