The lines at the grocery store were terrible, but the citrus isle wasn’t bad. Also on my walk yesterday I picked up beautiful grapefruit, all kinds of herbs and mint and saw several yards growing artichokes (not ready yet) but their purple flowers were beautiful. Also picked a couple magnolia flowers for the dinner table. Smelled wonderful.

I live just down the street from Disneyland. This entire area was nothing but orange trees . Disneyland was built around 1950 and over time the giant orchards have disappeared to be replaced with houses. But most homes in my area still have orange, avocado, grapefruit, lemon and lime trees. I live in a condo so I don’t have trees of my own but everyone I know has them so I am still lucky enough to reap the bounty.
