I don't think I've ever SEEN a kumquat, much less eaten one. Maybe I should put that on my "Bucket List."

Debbie Cousins— citrus family of course, no peeling required. Just pop then in your mouth. I did make jam with half of them last night. Just “,freezer” jam so no canning process necessary. .

Everyone I know has a kumquat tree so I get tons. A winter fruit. I made jam last night (really easy) and now will return some of the fruit back to its original owner in the form of jam. Some of these are people from my pool who grow everything. Grapefruit, Myers lemons, lots of oranges, heritage tomatoes, fresh herbs, zucchini — lots of stuff. They are very generous and share with me. I in turn bake for them or make things like jams and jellies. Even exchange. Many of them are much older, no families so they don’t cook and bake like they used to.

I almost always add edemame nuts, pipitas (pumpkin seed), sesame seeds to my salad for thefiber, potassium, proteins. They turn ordinary into extraordinary. Part of eating is making my meals special. nice dishes, candles, pretty table cloth, NO TV AT MEAL TIME.—music and conversation instead

Wow I haven’t enjoyed a kumquat in decades. I use to pick them from a tree on my way home from school everyday. Hurricane Andrew blew down the tree. I’ve tried buying them but they are horrible 🤢

This is so interesting. Have never eaten or seen a real one in my life. I live in Canada where they do not grow to my knowledge. But, my kids had a game when younger that had a kumquat card that we all lived and laughed at, just the sound of the word was funny to them as children. We knew it must be s fruit of some kind but had no idea what like. So, it’s citrus? Tastes like what?
