Erquiaga— meat is gluten free of course, but the deal is, the average person has no idea where gluten comes from or what foods contain it. They just jump on a trendy bandwagon so manufacturers follow suit and label their product as such.

And some meats do have gluten added to them, sausage is an obvious one but also chicken breasts that have been brined, the brine can contain gluten. Chicken stock has gluten in it.
