The scary part about this is that it’s not only people in their 60’s, it’s people I know that are a lot younger who walk around in pain and are constantly not feeling well. You wanna feel good later in life, start now… good post.

Yeah, I see people post on Facebook about how it was so nice not having to grunt anytime they stand or sit in their youth...they are in their 30s. And trust me, I know all about people not taking care of themselves when I have to dispatch ambulance and firefighters for extra hands to lift people who can't stand back up in their 40s or people having heart attacks in their 30s, 40s, or 50s. Now some could just have poor genes, sure, but not all, not even close.

Lol ken I was one of those people. Lower back pain, random headaches, and loose knee joints. When your body adapts to handling weights, normal life is a breeze 👍🏿👍🏿

Also I use to have tendon flare ups on my hand and it would swell abs hurt like hell where I wouldn’t be able to use it, it would happen once a month. Ever since I am consistently lifted, the gaps has gotten bigger n bigger and I think I only had it once in the last 6 months. I don’t know if that’s tendinitis, but if anyone with that problem... start lifting as a part of life

Same thing can be said for physical activity in general. Whatever activity you enjoy will prolong a happy healthy life

turning 70 in June, lifting and cardio has been a big part of staying healthy and 'youthful' (in mind anyway). PLUS the great group of lifestyle focused people on FS. Through all my personal trials and challenges, the peace I have from the Lord has been essential.

I am resisting training in calories today.😁 Happy Thanksgiving Diablo, I know what you state is true and I see rubber bands in my future, and not for my hair.👍

Any activity is essentially resistance training. We are fighting gravity at every turn lol. So yes, walking, jogging, lifting, it all works in our favor as we age.

I'm glad to hear you say it all counts, Diablo. I tend to be more of a walking, hiking and cross country skiing sort. Do plan to start lifting soon as I heal adequately from my shoulder injury
