Tooth or Consequences Materials scientists at Tufts University have created a paper-thin food sensor that’s small enough, at just 2mm square, to be mounted unobtrusively on a human tooth. The device requires no onboard power source, and works by absorbing and re-emitting low-power radio waves. The signal changes depending on whether the sensor has been exposed to salt, sugar, or alcohol, and the output can be reported to a tablet or phone. Analyzing what you’re eating could get so much easier. [Research paper] This article came from my April NEO LIFE MAGAZINE. Maybe it won’t be long before the life of dieters gets easier.
