Happy Sunday! Hope you are able to attend church services today. Here in Virginia, we are in Phase II of our "Reopen Virginia" plan. That means we can have services with the church up to 50% capacity as long as we observe the 6' social distancing and wear masks. We also aren't passing the offering plate (it is on the back table for people to drop their tithes in). My husband is the Pastor, and he ordered these little individual communion sets for us to use today. Each one has a pre-packaged portion of the grape juice and a wafer - so nobody will have to pass the trays with the communion elements. The hardest thing (for OUR church) is the "no hugging" rule! Bumping elbows is just not as satisfying as a warm Christian hug!

Singing is also dangerous, expels the breath much farther than 6 feet. Be safe my friend. 💛

the Church I am a part of is approximately 10k strong here in Maryland. We have opted to continue our online Church services with our dedicated online station. Its not like being there but we figured if we wanted to hold services at all 5 of our campus and with our membership it would just be to difficult. plus here in Maryland rhey have told us we can't sing because of the droplet problem.
So as weather permits we meet outdoors.
If this had happened 10 yrs ago there is no way we would have had the technology to do what we are doing now. I feel more connected to God than ever before.
Our record online service for the weekend was 45k ppl from as far away as Switzerland and Australia. You can try and stop the Church but when you think about it we the people are the Church and each one of our homes is our meeting place.
Love the Lord, Love people and serve the world

Our church has been back for a couple weeks. We are small, most sundays around 10,sometimes up to 20. Not counting kids, which range from 3 - 8.My husband is the co-pastor, we haven't been there long. But the church has a cool history, it was rebuilt during the Civil War and the seats and alters are original and were used by union soldiers. I kind of miss being in a bigger church though. Pastor leaves it up to us if we want to shake hands or hug, and since he is my husband's uncle, kind of heard to say no.My kids ran and gave him hugs first day back.

Lack of hugs...That is the TRUTH! When you see that smiling face after 2 months you just wanna squeeze the quarantine outta of 'em.

@Gasnola5779, sorry my husband doesn't use social media. @SythianBard, thankfully, my daughter hasn't been all paranoid, and we've been able to continue to see our grandkids and get those hugs through all this. @Ravenseyes1959 and Shirfleur1, we DO sing, but we keep our masks on during the singing. We're able to observe the 6' rule because we only have about 20 people on a Sunday, so everyone is well-spaced to avoid close contact.
