Although I am not a paleo, Keto person I read and follow several people who I think have interesting insights to bring to my arsenal of information. This is actually a well documented physiological concept but I thought there might be others who may not be as familiar with it.

I tried running as an exercise activity many years ago, but just not for me. Plus long term it is so hard on the joints and knees. I have a 14 year old young friend who is a marathon runner and does track and field— when she started out I would run with her, but then she was only doing less than 5 miles. the faster and better she got I became concerned about her knees long term. Now we have a coach for her— so far so good. I mentored she and her mother both on their weight loss journeys starting when she was 8. Mom lost 175 lb. in a year and obviously the little girl did very well also.

175? How great is that! Good job on mentoring Kenna. I have been doing collagen for joints and feel it helps. But I am well aware of the fact that running can be taxing. It is something I really enjoy doing though so I take rest days to make sure I do not overdo it

You always share the most interesting articles.

FullaBella— I love to study and learn new stuff. So much conflicting information out there on many subjects not just weight loss and nutrition. I find that the best thing to do is read things written by what seems to be reliable people, but also research the authors of some of this stuff as well and see what has been published about them. I also look to see what is in it for them— where is the money.

Maybe in sand, otherwise no thanks. If you're not doing it for a sport, I don't see the reason to do anything high impact. Too much of a risk of injury. Just saw a friend post on facebook that she did 45 minutes of exercising at the gym, came home and did HIIT. Now she is in the ER.

I’m with you Diablo— at this point I am really grateful to not have any injuries. I do cardio and strength training but choose to follow a toning regime rather than hi impact. Use it or loose it but I don’t need to go balls to the wall. Swimming 2 hours a day and hiking work pretty well for me.

There are many people who think you need to go balls to the wall to make progress. The Insanity workout videos or CrossFit are great examples. I prefer moderation in all things. Well besides alcohol, not really a drinker. 😊

I don’t drink either but I love Coors non-alcoholic beer.

So you say you like it or not like it... the article.... I am moderately confused

Livoo1– I like the article and again it is a widely known concept.. sprinting doesn’t meet my personal needs but it has value for most younger people who are physically able to do it— those who don’t yet have limiting disabilities.

Chris— I like the way he presents material. A lot of what he has to say is valid for many people regardless of their eating preferences. Just an interesting guy.

Caution is necessarily "brief explosive all-out sprints" are extremely dangerous. You must know your body wheal and even then you can die. A 37 years old friend of mine, back in the days, from Florida just dodged death when her intracranial pressure goes up, but luckily her noes start to bled and the pressure start to go down. Doctors say she just lucky to be alive. After a while she start do them again ;) her name is Ava Cowan.
