Today I was given a dozen guava fruits. Not quite ready yet but will be in a few days. Another powerhouse of nutrition. More than 60% more potassium in just the edible seeds than in a whole banana. Between apples, pomegranates, guava and soon oranges, avocados and Myer lemons I am a happy camper.

How great you get fruit given to you!!! Best to hope for in homegrown fruit around here are apples. Maybe some grapes, which someone I know grows. Enjoy!

One thing about California, we have fruit everywhere. Sadly, a lot of it goes to waste because people just get tired of eating it and dealing with it. I wish they would at least pick it and take it to a food bank. My friends are very generous so in turn bake things like bread, cookies and stuff for them. For those that are diabetic I find recipes that I know they can eat. Last winter I made all sorts of sugar free preserves. They loved it and the preserves tasted great.
