I was reading the business news this morning and it listed 21 restaurant and fast food chains that probably will not survive into the future. Taco Bell, Burger King, Jack in the Box, papa John’s Pizza, Golden Corral, Ruby’s, Marie Calendar’s, Red Robin and many others on the list. It would certainly help some people make better food choices. Here in Southern California we are already beginning to see that happen.

No. Not in the long run. Those businesses will return or be replaced. But maybe just hitting the pause button for a brief moment in time will have an impact on both consumers and the food industry. Attempts at educating the public has proved fruitless for the most part and nothing else has worked.

I hate to see any businesses go under. Each one of them had some healthy choices on the menu, but they all needed more. I hope they adapt with even more healthy choices for the sake of their employees and customers...

I am saddened by all the business closing regardless of what service they provide. All those employees and business owners out of jobs and trying to put food on their own tables. The labor done in those businesses you mentioned does not translate easily to other areas or industries and most people let go end up working somewhere else for a lower wage and stay unemployed for extended times. My brother tells me the Seattle area local restaurants in the port area are devastated and it is like a ghost town. No lunch crowds coming in, people working from home, no tourists. I am in Coastal NC in an area where we see many summer tourists. Yet, so many restaurants have shut down because of COVID. Sad. There is no positive in seeing businesses have to close.

The bottom line is that companies will only make what people will buy. Look how quickly everyone jumped on the cauliflower bandwagon and now everything but your shoe soles is made from cauliflower. The public demanded KETO and the companies delivered— we as consumers are powerful. WE drive the market. We just have to make up our minds to do the best possible thing for ourselves.. there is now a non- alcoholic, wine, whisky, gin, tequila and bubbly . For us non drinkers it is nice to share a little bubbly to toast to someone’s new commitment to better health.

it's not about what's out there. its people lack of self control and gluttonous attitude that is the issue

I will make it my personal mission to support each one faithfully... The ones I've heard of in Illinois, that is.

I remember when I wished all fast food places would burn down cause they were temptations and would make me fat immediately. Now I'm glad we have the variety since I can still have it in moderation while reaching my goals.
