It should say "misinformation" instead of information and it would be current with how so many individuals justify their choices.

Hm, but there are so many websites that look reputable and professionals who have sold out that deal in half-truths that you really need a PhD or some other degree/training to distinguish the truth from lies. Information is dangerous without proper context and without trust in people who can guide non-experts.

Sometimes influence is misconstrued as information

That is why it is important to review multiple sites and in terms of diet and food choices there is still schools of thought amongst the professionals. I suspect any site that wants to sell me something. Not that their position might not be valid but I look with a jaded eye. Everyone has a personal issue, I’m salt sensitive so I have to be aware of my choices. My family tree carries a lot of low lying fruit that are diabetic, both type one and type 2. So far, so good for me. Same with blood pressure. Quite a few alcoholics on my dad’s side but he was a casual beer drinker and it was never an issue. My dad’s family has had a lot of peripheral vascular disease. My dad had very small vessels and it did become an issue. I have that too, that’s why I WALK— when you walk your body builds networks of small blood vessels to help carry the blood flow and increase oxygen carrying capacity. So much to be learned from reading. Things that you may not learn from your doctor.

People here often poo-poo walking because it is not necessarily a high calorie burner. But it’s magic far extends past its calorie burning capacity

People who have been fit for years know walking is the only cardio most of us need and the one that's most likely to be sustainable. But not everyone knows how to review/read/evaluate claims like you do, Kenna.

Agreed. Walking is the best calorie burner for me. Low intensity, low impact and can keep it for as long as needed. It’s an awesome tool!

Kenna, I certainly agree about the walking. It’s a great tonic to gently physically improve the body, plus the mental relaxation benefit if you don’t carry distractions like toxic talk shows or have upsetting conversations during the walk.

All this being said. Some type of resistance training is important. You don’t have to be a body builder, or carry big gun arms. You need to tone and strengthen your muscles. As you get older— like me, you naturally start losing muscle and have to make sure that you eat protein and keep those leg, back and arm muscles strong in order to help you complete your activities of daily living and to PREVENT injury.

To, Long — that’s totally why I don’t mind walking and hiking by myself.
