You guys aren't gonna believe this!! UCSD called me early this morning and cancelled my surgery for Oct 30th!!!!! I couldn't make this stuff up! It's crazy! We were supposed to leave today but at last min decided to leave early Saturday and drive straight to La Jolla. Well I get a phone call this morning from Dr and I thought, oh good they are giving me my surgery time. No...she was calling me to tell me my surgery had to be rescheduled as the operating room was broken. Apparently the robotic machine was having electrical problems and also they were unable to pressurize/ sterilize the room. ( separate issues) The guy who fixes it cannot come till Mon ( my surgery date) Then the part he thinks they need can take time to get there. So they rescheduled me for Nov 6. We hung up and 20 min later she called me back and said that the part will actually take a week or so to get there and a few days to be put in. My surgery is now Nov 13! I was; in such such shock! She told me there were people she had to cancel that were already in pre-op, ready for their surgeries. That for sure would've put me; over the top. Nothing I can do but wait...Im pretty depressed about it though...

That's awful! To them it's just another day but for you, and anyone waiting for surgery this is a major deal and very upsetting. So sorry you have to go through this

Fritzy, I actually felt bad for the girl that called me. She had to call all the others and reschedule them! She is probably hearing it all day! It's not her fault and I guess after I got over shock I understand there isn't much they can do about it...she said the Dr was extremely frustrated as well. But yes, this surgery is a major thing for me so I just want it to be over with. 💜💜

Diana i look at it as a blessing. Imagine if that had happened while you were in there. Now it will be freshly repaired and surgery should go very smooth. I understand the frustration, anticipation, anxiety. So much better to have a fully functional and just looked at robot. My hip was done with robotic assist and it gave a much better placement than without. Sorry honey but Kat has the right idea😂. More workouts in your future! Xoxo darlin

Anxiety - you need to keep a good quality harmonica (blues harp) in your pocket and learn a little lick or two -/ breath a deep breath (suck and blow) or maybe rent a tuba - music to set you free!

That sux Diana!! But I'm guessing most folks would not want to have surgery in a room that has not been sterilized. On the plus side at least they value safety and quality of surgery over quantity of surgeries! Count yourself blessed that you have a team that does the right thing!

Than you everyone! I appreciate you all and will move forward to new date. On plus side, I didn't want to sit around and be depressed, so I made a huge pot of bone broth! After that was done, I used some of it to make a chicken vegetable soup last night. Very tasty. 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

That's terrible I can only imagine the stress, depression, and expense that you're going through plus all the expense of the other people are going through they really should have been more on top of things. I know that these things happen and that it's not on purpose but a lot of times they look over the additional costs that it will cause people not just a stress and the time/lost wages, and the amount of effort it took to get there and time off work it taken and lost opportunities like you said the amount of people who may have already traveled and spent money to get there and have their operations it's very unfortunate. And although there's nothing you can do I still empathize and feel for you I know you must be very frustrated right now and perhaps even angry at the situation I hope you can find some solents and you're cooking and everyday activities until you're able to get into your surgery and finally have it over with I know I always feel better to have these major medical things out of the way

That is,crazy!!! I hate to say it, have looked in Florida or New York for doctors who can do this surgery? Sorry for your stress and aggravation 😰😰😰😰
