Journal de Debbie Cousins, 07 janv. 21

Weight is coming down nicely since I got back on track. I'm already 10% progressed toward my goal of losing 60 pounds in six months. I thank God for leading me to a motivational impetus that helped to inspire me to get back on the program (ANY program!) I love the freedom I've chosen of being able to eat ANY food, as long as I stay within my Calorie count. Surprisingly, I haven't been using that freedom to ensnare myself in a bunch of sweets and junk food. I'm eating healthy foods with lots of fruits and veggies each day. Also, getting in 64 oz of water a day (but still drinking about 2/3 of a 2-liter of Diet Coke each day - I want to cut that down to 3 12-oz cans, then to two, then eliminate it altogether)

Halfway through the week. Keep on chuggin'

Drinking the water is the most important thing!! I’ve been very good throughout my weight loss, but now I really haven’t been drinking that much. I also love Diet Coke and just started bringing one to work every day and it makes me not want to drink my water so I might start cutting that out too. ☹️ have a Happy Thursday Debbie, the first one and the new year. 😊👍🌺

I agree, can you stop drinking diet pop? Of course you can. It’s nothing but chemicals and water. ❤️🤗

I was a diet-coke-aholic from age 14-40. I would drink 8 to 10 cans a day on weekends and multiple extra large McD's or 7-11 big gulps full of the stuff while at work. Every candid family photo had a can in my hand or within reach. EVERY one. I quit cold turkey 7 years ago. And never looked back. I will occasionally have a Sprite for a sugar bump. It can happen. BTW DH still drinks the stuff so it's in the house. Blegh.

I gotta say, I found quitting smoking 100 times easier than quitting Diet Coke. I've probably stopped drinking soda a dozen times, but always find my way back. I've been off it for about 2 weeks now, and I'm very happy with the results. it's amazing how much better everything tastes when you aren't killing your taste buds with all those chemicals.

Debbie and Heytherepickles I agree it's hard! (I sounded cavalier) It WAS hard. Any habit that long is. And it's everywhere. Keep trying! Cutting down is worth it.

@Chow moore, WOOHOO!!! Great job in your first week!!! @Sarafinia glad you're surprising yourself - good surprises are always GREAT! WOW, @Rosie We Can Do It - SEVEN years without Diet Coke - that seems miraculous to me. It is truly an addiction with me and I've tried unsuccessfully many times to break it. I've gone a couple months in the past, but I always go back to it. @heytherepickles, GREAT JOB on being two weeks "Diet Coke FREE!" That's a great accomplishment! Keep up the good work. Thank you EVERYONE for all your sweet encouragement and kind words!
